Gratitude Sunday

It's hard to believe the long planned vacation is over but it is and then some.  Hannah and Owen arrived home safely from Steubenville a couple of hours ago, praise God.

July is upon us which means baby arrives next month!  The little girls have started their asking everyday routine of "when is the baby going to be born?" and the people in the supermarket give that *look* as if I'm going to give birth in the pasta aisle.  It's amusing.
I'm grateful for this opportunity once again (even if I'm hot, huge, and really slow) and for family and friends.

Here's a shot of the yo yo on the playground at the beach.  I don't know why I find these pictures so amusing by I do.
Have a blessed week everyone!

7QT on Friday

If you know me at all you know I'm VERY PICKY about what movies and such that we watch.  Jesse and I went to the cheap theater on vacation to see Man of Steel.  I'd see it again.  And again. And again.  I loved it.  No sex.  Very little swearing.  I didn't find it particularly violent (it's very action packed but not necessarily violent).  I so wish I could remove the few swear words so that my younger boys could see it but we'll catch it on our Clear Play DVD player when it's out on DVD.  See this if you're looking for a way to escape the heat this summer.  I plan to go again.  Really good stuff.

Hannah and Owen are off for the weekend to Steubenville for one of their Youth Conferences.  Owen is sporting his brand new glasses.  So proud of these guys!

This was as much of a sunset we got while we were away.  All those nights there and no real sunset.  Reminded me that there are no guarantees in life.  So just live in the moment.

Now that vacation is over I'm thinking it's getting close to baby time.  My trusted Maya Wrap has seen better days (and has gone through at least five babies) so I'm shipping around...found this one at my fave natural parenting site HERE

I walked the kids out to the lighthouse last week.  Hannah and I herded everyone along and no one fell in so we felt accomplished.

These girls as teenagers...plus 2 more. And I'll be old.  That's all I have to say about that.

Here's Owen performing in one of his yo yo videos.
Have a blessed weekend everyone!

Vacationing Day 4 {Where I Learn That The Children Have Endless Energy}

The kids often complain they are "too tired" to do their chores...I think they have been lying all along.  Today they beached....

Went to the Children's Museum in St. Joe, MI

(Josie was a big fan of the "vet" clinic.  She misses Mr. Bates very much)

More beaching.....

S'mores

And still more beaching after that.  They JUST started going to bed.  I need a vacation from my vacation.....Thanks for tolerating all the photos. The wifi here isn't great and I'm trying to upload when I can.

Josie On The Big Slide

Once upon a time this scenario would have scared me to death....

No spotter and only her brother taking pictures.  I'm sure Jesse was nearby somewhere but I'm impressed by her ability to master the big slide in only a day.....

Gratitude Sunday {Beach Vacation Day Two}

Today it was HOT which is good for a beach vacation but not so good for the really pregnant mom.
Grateful to be here at the lake, have a/c, and yummy food to eat.

Sam and J scored some new sunglasses (they traded some work for the glasses with grandma and grandpa)

More water time and this time Josie hated it more than yesterday.

Above Clare is thinking "I wonder how I can get out of carrying stuff back to the house"
Below she has charmed Grandpa into doing it for her.

And a picture with Grandma and Grandpa (minus Brandon...we miss you!).

Vacationing {Beach Trip Day One}

My parents pay for a beach vacation every year.
We could never afford it on our own.
We had to go early this year because of Baby Frances coming in August.

The water is cold but the kids don't seem to care.

Josie doesn't approve of the big water.  But seems to enjoy the sand.

And of course the yo yo came along for some beach pictures.....
